With Brood II cicadas set to make cicada love and die all over the area, residents are faced with a choice. You can ignore them, you can cook them, or, thanks to a new offer from Washington-area technology refurbisher PC Retro, you can trade them in for a discount on a computer.
In an ad in the Washington Post Express, PC Retro announced that anyone trading in a dead cicada and a piece of computer equipment would get $17 off a purchase—-in honor of the 17 years the cicadas have spent in the ground.
PC Retro regional manager Quentin Washington says he’s already received offers of dead cicadas. So far, he hasn’t had to deal with disposing of the love-crazed bugs. “It hasn’t bitten me yet,” he says.
