Better Red Than Dead: A day after he escaped the National Zoo before being apprehended in Adams Morgan, Rusty the adorably truant red panda has been checked out of the zoo’s veterinary hospital and is “eating normally, drinking normally, and pooping normally.” +4
Cab Cash: A federal grand jury indicted politically connected D.C. restaurateur Tony Cheng and his son on charges that they bribed public officials in order to secure licenses to operate taxi companies. Cheng’s lawyer says they’ll fight the charges; no word, so far, on how this will impact Cheng’s Stafford County, Va., pear farm. +/- 0
