Crafty Bastards, the indie arts and crafts fair sponsored by Washington City Paper, will return to Union Market this year—for two days.

The fair will run Saturday, Sept. 28, and Sunday, Sept. 29, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets will cost $5, and they’ll be available for purchase starting Aug. 29. City Paper held Crafty Bastards at Union Market last fall for the first time; it drew a large enough crowd that we’ve decided to expand to a second day for the first time.

CRAFTY BASTARDS ARTS AND CRAFTS FAIR: CALL FOR VENDORS

(Washington, D.C.) Crafty Bastards Arts & Crafts Fair returns to Washington, D.C., on Saturday, Sept. 28, and Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, for another handmade shopping extravaganza!

Crafty Bastards Arts & Crafts Fair is an exhibition and sale of handmade arts and crafts from independent artists presented by Washington City Paper. The tenth annual event will be Crafty Bastards’ first two-day show and second year at Union Market, D.C.’s year-round indoor food market. Union Market is located at 1309 5th St. NE in Washington, D.C., and accessible via the NoMa-Gallaudet University/New York Ave. station on Metro’s Red Line.

Craft vendor applications are being accepted at washingtoncitypaper.com/craftybastards through Sunday, July 28. To be considered for booth space, applicants must submit five images of their work, an artist statement, and $20 non-refundable application fee before the deadline. Completed applications will be reviewed by the Crafty Bastards jury and applicants will be notified of their status by Saturday, Aug. 10. See the vendor application page for more info.

For those seeking a one-of-a-kind shopping experience, Crafty Bastards Arts and Crafts Fair is not to be missed. In past years, Crafty Bastards has hosted a wide array of interesting and unique items including handmade hats, handspun yarn, bracelets made from camera parts, sculptures made from Monopoly game pieces, monster plushies, eco-friendly goods, pottery, clothing, and much, much more!

Crafty Bastards at Union Market will have ticketed admission. Tickets are $5 in advance and will be available for purchase Aug. 29 at washingtoncitypaper.com. Join the Crafty Bastards email list to be notified when tickets go on sale.
