For years, Curtis Malone mentored D.C. youth on the court as one of the co-founders of DC Assault, a successful area basketball program. But according to a federal indictment, Malone spent much of the same time as a drug trafficker who went by the names White Boy and Daddy.

Malone was officially indicted Wednesday and, according to court documents, he conspired with two other people from at least August 2010 to August 2013 to distribute large amounts of cocaine and heroin.

Police arrested Malone Friday in Upper Marlboro after a year-long Drug Enforcement Administration investigation. They found 100 grams of heroin, one kilogram of cocaine, and a handgun in his home.

DC Assault said in a statement Monday that Malone will no longer be involved in the organization and it is “stunned and deeply concerned” about the news, the Post reported.
