Singer Chris Brown, 24,was arrested early Sunday morning on a felony assault charge near the W Hotel on the 500 block of 15th Street NW, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

At around 4:30 a.m., police say Brown and Christopher Hollosy, 34, assaulted a man, who was treated and released at a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

TMZ, which first reported on the arrest, reports that both sides have very different explanations as to what triggered the assault.

Brown’s people say the alleged victim tried to enter the singer’s tour bus, and Brown and his bodyguard, Hollosy, were trying to prevent him from trespassing.

The alleged victim tells TMZ that he photobombed Brown as he was taking a picture with two women. Brown got angry and said, “I’m not into this gay shit, I’m into boxing,” and punched him. The man says he broke his nose and will need surgery.

Brown was in town to host a Howard University homecoming-related event that Saturday night nearby at The Park at Fourteenth.
The singer is already on probation for assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.
