Activist Adam Kokesh succumbed to the law today and pleaded guilty to drug and weapon charges stemming from a video he posted online of himself loading a shotgun in Freedom Plaza, which is against the law in D.C.

Kokesh was arrested in July and is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 17, according to WJLA.

The video was part of his campaign to push for looser gun laws in the District.

Kokesh made local headlines when he tried to organize a group of fellow libertarians to march into D.C. on July 4 armed with weapons. But Metropolitan Police Department Chief Cathy Lanier said she would stop the rally at the bridge into the city, and the plan ultimately folded.
