Mayor Vince Gray delivered his 2014 State of the District address last night, and began the address by denying he had any knowledge of the off-the-books, Jeff Thompson-financed shadow campaign to elect him in 2010. “Who do you believe?” Gray asked. “A greedy man attempting to save himself, or me, a public servant who has dedicated my entire career and my entire life to giving back to our communities in the District of Columbia?” In the speech, he also announced a number of plans and initiatives, including increasing the school budget by more than $100 million and a program to locate housing for homeless families.
