Court Reigns: Despite the fact a federal judge said his ruling that overturned D.C.’s total ban on carrying guns in public did not have to go into effect until at least October, it is already having an effect, the AP reports. The U.S. Attorney’s Office says it has, for now, stopped charging new cases of carrying a pistol. Prosecutors are instead using other available weapons charges while they review the court ruling, including charging people with a misdemeanor as opposed to a felony if they are carrying a pistol in public. -7
