D.C.’s Next Great Suburb? A group of railroad entrepreneurs is one (very, very small) step closer to building a high-speed rail that will travel between Washington and Baltimore in 15 minutes. The group applied to the Public Service Commision of Maryland for a franchise to operate the railroad. Now, if someone could figure out a way to travel from McPherson Square to Columbia Heights in less than 15 minutes via Metro… +2

Duh: Real estate blog Movoto ranked D.C. as the second “snobbiest” city in the nation. And in 1916, the always-in-the-know Washington Post wrote an article about D.C. under the headline “City of Snobs and Snubs.” –3
