Little Interest: The bad news: D.C. now allows people to apply for concealed carry permits. The good(ish) news: Only 32 people applied for a permit during the first two weeks the police department started accepting applications. Eighteen of those were filed by non-D.C. residents and 14 by D.C. residents. +2

Closing Time: The Passenger and Columbia Room will close up shop near the Convention Center on Jan. 1. The Columbia Room will be moving to Blagden Alley, and the Passenger is still looking for a new home in Shaw. -1

Farewell Fun: The Garden District—-the beer garden formally known as The Standard—-will close for the season on Dec. 6, though tonight may be the last day when it’s warm enough to hang out outside for a while. -1
