Congratulations, unnamed Metropolitan Police Department officer who was filmed dancing to “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” with 17-year-old D.C. high-schooler Aaliyah Taylor. President Barack Obama approves of your moves.
Who knew community policing could involve the Nae Nae? Great example of police having fun while keeping us safe: https://t.co/ZGeTDm6OYw

The commander-in-chief tweeted the original Washington Post article recounting the dance-off around 1 p.m. today. His tweet has already gotten more than 1,000 retweets and more than 1,700 favorites. But just in case the local press corps didn’t see the tweet, a Bowser spokesman sent it out in an email.
Closer to the District, Police Chief Cathy Lanier also expressed praise over how the officer depicted in the video interacted with Taylor and her friends. “Please take a look at the below video link which shows an MPD foot beat officer interacting with teenage girls on her beat,” she wrote in an email to an MPD listserv late this morning. “This video is indicative of the interactions that occur everyday throughout the city. Who do you think won this dance off?”
Now watch them nae nae (again).
