Update March 30:

The Nuclear Security Summit has officially begun, per the Metropolitan Police Department:

On Monday, officials warned residents to prepare for increased security and “tough traffic days,” tomorrow and Friday. Certain Metrobus routes near the Convention Center will be affected, and the Mount Vernon Square Metro station will be closed during the summit.

This is not a drill: D.C. officials say the 2016 Nuclear Security Summit will result in significant street closures and parking restrictions starting Sunday and lasting until Saturday, April 2.

Washington Convention Center. The Metropolitan Police Department, the District Department of Transportation, and other partners are coordinating the event. Federal workers are even being told to telecommute.
