A person who suffered critical injuries from a gunshot approached a WJLA news van near Benning Road and F Street SE while a crew was in the area covering a separate crime story on Tuesday afternoon, one of its reporters said.
D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services spokesperson Timothy Wilson confirmed that the department transported “a patient with critical injuries” near that location around 1 p.m., based on an initial report. ABC7’s Kevin Lewis tweeted about the incident:
