I checked in again with DJ Hut co-owner Chris Stiles this afternoon. Here’s what he had to say:
On the cause of the blaze: “I met with the fire investigators this morning and they’re coming back next week to finish their investigation. They’ve got a lot of data. I don’t know how much they have to make a conclusion. They’re not saying much.”
On the rare records in his office which include Gang Starr‘s Moment of Truth LP: “They look OK. A lot of the rare records look OK. I have to assess more of the smoke damage.”
On the state of business: “They boarded up the building to secure it. At this point there’s nothing we can do. We have to let everything be until we get the go ahead. We’re pretty much not doing much.”
