Marcus Strickland, an up-and-coming jazz tenor saxophonist, was scheduled to do two nights (tonight and tomorrow) at Twins Jazz with his Twi-Life Group, a band that includes his twin brother E.J. on drums and purveys funky/fusiony goodness.

The two shows were to be a release party for their new CD, Open Reel Deck; I reviewed that CD for a forthcoming issue of JazzTimes and was really looking forward to hearing some of it live.

Alas, it is not to be. A disagreement over last-minute details has forced Strickland and Twi-Life to cancel their performances. He does promise that a stand at Blues Alley will take place in the near future.
