The Rock and Roll Hotel plays host to an afternoon show today that features a lineup of five grindcore metal bands.
On the bill:
- The Number 12 Looks Like You
- See You Next Tuesday
- At the Throne of Judgement
- I Hate Sally
- Summer So Far
I’m not a huge grindcore fan (though I have my moments), nor have I previously heard of any of the people on this schedule…but man, I haven’t seen such a list of consistently compelling band names since It’s A Beautiful Day, Only Alternative and his Other Possibilities, and The Charging Tyrannosaurus of Despair played at Winterland. Color this cynical critic intrigued.
The show, by the way, starts at 4:45 p.m. this afternoon at Rock and Roll Hotel, 1353 H Street NE. 202-388-ROCK. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door.
