I’ve written before about Mark Mosley, a local jazz guitarist with a passion for blues and for jazz’s capacity for democracy, as well as a warm and inviting sound (with a personality to match). Mosley’s a teacher in the Baltimore school system, but he also holds down a regular Friday night gig at Sala Thai on U Street, playing both standards and original tunes and swinging them all hard.
If you haven’t seen him there, tonight’s a good opportunity to see him at a more music-intensive venue: He’ll be playing at Bohemian Caverns with two other outstanding local musicians, bassist James King and drummer Nasar Abadey. Friday nights are always great for jazz, and you can’t do better than a historic and atmospheric club with a talented, personable player like Mosley. (You can also find his CD, Mark’s Mood, at CD Baby.)
