In 2009, NPR’s All Songs Considered—the ultimate music discovery radio program/Podcast/blog for audiophiles—added a new avenue of acquisition for rabid consumers of tunes: exclusive previews of new albums.

On Jan. 4, two weeks before the album hits stands on Tuesday, Jan. 20, host Bob Boilen and Fat Possum Records unleashed world-class whistler Andrew Bird’s “Noble Beast” (Fat Possum).  While streaming entire albums online is nothing new, Boilen and NPR also gave listeners a chance to live-chat with Bird on Jan. 8.

Missed it? Never fear – the exclusive previews/artist chats will continue for the forseeable future. This is where listeners can stream M. Ward’s “Hold Time” and Animal Collective’s “Merriweather Post Pavilion” in their entirety. Upcoming albums include Bon Iver’s “Bloodbank” and Heartless Bastards’ “Mountain.”
