As we mentioned before, Ostinato‘s brief set at DC9 last Thursday was likely the last time the band will ever play in D.C., or the United States for that matter. The farewell show of sorts was a good one, showcasing the trio’s full dynamic range: from fast-paced noisy jams to chilled-out, soundscapey post-rock. A couple more photos after the jump, and a bunch more here. There are also a few shots of Earthless in there; they did their trademark enormously long, loud jam, balls to the wall the entire time with no dynamics whatsoever. Pretty admirable (and definitely more enjoyable than it is on record), although the denouement was incredibly, unnecessarily drawn-out.
