The Way We Get By follows Bill Knight, Joan Gaudet, and Jerry Mundy, three retired residents of Bangor, Maine, who have met every incoming flight from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan since 2003.
I don’t recommend* movies often—so many of them suck—but I’m tellin’ ya: You should see this movie. It will make small gestures seem gigantic, and will help you feel human. If you’re not the kind of person who has a problem feeling human, this movie will make you feel extra human.

Starting tomorrow, The Way We Get By is showing for a week at the AMC Shirlington. It drops on DVD Nov. 4.
