District 9‘s Best Picture nomination seems to be one of the year’s biggest surprises, and many are already wondering if “Academy Award winner” will soon precede Sandra Bullock‘s name.
*Lady Gaga tweeted her newest sign of devotion to her fans: her nickname for them, “Little Monsters,” freshly tattooed on her arm.
*It was announced that the best Beatle, Ringo Starr, will be getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next week. Ringo’s reaction to the honor? “A star for a Starr — what an honor and a privilege it is to be walked on!”
*Duncan Sheik (the mastermind behind Broadway’s Spring Awakening) will be the creative force behind the newly announced American Psycho stage musical.
*Zach Galifianakis announced on his Twitter that he’ll be hosting Saturday Night Live on March 6. Awkward comedy fans rejoice.
*A new rendition of “We Are the World” was recently recorded at the Jim Henson Company studios with over 75 popular artists. Among them, Barbra Streisand, Usher, Harry Connick, Jr., Jeff Bridges … Joel Madden and Justin Bieber? It certainly will be an interesting mix.
*Tonight in City Lights: Alberta Cross will be playing with Hacienda at the Black Cat.
