Today through Thursday, Bethesda Row is hosting its Front Row event, featuring trunk shows, boutique bargains, and famous faces (well, in the fashion industry, anyway). Here are a few of the upcoming events.
Thursday, May 20
Bluemercury, Sassanova, and Urban Chic will be hosting events all day. Tonight’s highlight: Jill Kargman will read from her new book, Arm Candy. Kargman is a true fashion insider: her father, Arie Kopelman, is the former CEO of Chanel.
Friday, May 21
All day at Bluemercury, meet founder and CEO Marla Malcolm Beck. Shop the beachy, feminine pieces of Calypso St. Barth at the all-day trunk show at Ginger (also Saturday). Lou Lou will host a MIJA trunk show from 12-2 p.m. At 7:30 on Bethesda Lane, season 3 Project Runway contestant Laura Bennett—she of the sophisticated evening wear and red hair and redder lipstick—will be signing her book Didn’t I Feed You Yesterday? A Mother’s Guide to Sanity in Stilettos. Tinsley Mortimer, vapid socialite and star of the reality TV show High Society will also make an appearance.
Saturday, May 22
Take a free pilates class from 9-10 a.m. at Lululemon Athletica, and feel less guilty about eating that fashion-themed confection from Georgetown Cupcake afterward. Learn how to wear coral lipstick without feeling clownish at Bluemercury’s all-day Bobbi Brown event (also Friday). If you’ve got money to burn and want to buy your baby some cashmere, check out the Bambeeno trunk show at Sassanova.
