Sometimes publicity ploys work. Welders Theatre Company, the newest kid on the D.C. theater scene block, sent me a big box today. It contained a Darth Vader-ish welder’s helmet and a press release. Welders is a non-profit organization founded by Georgetown University alumni who intend to explore global issues on a local stage. Their first production, Jonathan Lichtenstein’s The Pull of Negative Gravity, will hit Georgetown University’s Devine Studio Theatre Friday, June 25 and play through Saturday, July 10. No hardhats necessary.
