On a day already buzzing about a “major announcement” (9 p.m., ESPN, fate of the NBA hanging in the balance), one Olubowale Folarin resurfaced on Twitter this morning to tease an announcement at 2 p.m.
Wale dropped off the grid after his spring tour with K’Naan, laying low at the BET Awards on June 27 and leaving his Twitter account dormant since May, but he returned this afternoon to plug his new mixtape, More About Nothing, a sequel to the noted Seinfeld fan’s 2008 Mixtape About Nothing. He also released “Workin’,” a new freestyle track, which won’t be part of the new mixtape.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus showed up on “The Vacation from Ourselves” while “The Kramer” sampled Michael Richard‘s notorious 2006 on-stage breakdown. Since 2008, Jerry & Co. have been somewhat busy. Perhaps More About Nothing will devote tracks to the faux reunion portrayed on the most recent season of Curb Your Enthusiasm or the stunning humorlessness of the Jerry Seinfeld-produced The Marriage Ref.
More About Nothing comes out until Aug. 3. Here’s the teaser video Wale released today:
