On Monday, Arena Stage moved into its new, $125 million Mead Center for American Theater, which contains three performance spaces, educational facilities, various shops and studios, and a cafe that will be run by chef Jose Andres‘ company. Arena invited reporters in to watch as the first of its staff began to move into the space, but it was very much a work in progress. Currently lined with industrial carpet, and still awaiting several key design decisions, the building is still under construction, and won’t open to the public until October 23, with its production of Oklahoma! —Jonathan L.
