Good morning, sleepyheads! A high of 97 degrees today–don’t know why I decided to sleep in sweats last night. For your viewing pleasure this morning, Passion Pit’s been on repeat in my earphones.
Glee hottie Puck, or rather Mark Sailing, is releasing his first (perhaps last) album Solo dropping in October. Take a gander–I’d rather listen to Sid the Science Kid. In case you missed it, here on Arts Desk, Charles Manson releases an eco-themed album from prison–guitars are provided for good behavior? And I’m officially ancient ’cause the best new punk band in the District hasn’t yet hit puberty.
Transformers 3 moves into town on Sept. 27, and they’ll be staying for, three whole days–tragic. Apparently National Park Service is the most difficult agency to work with, reports TBD. Producers had planned on sticking around for three weeks, filming in various spots in the District, the National Mall, for one, but talks “dwindled.” A scene scheduled for the Lincoln Memorial though, is set to move forward. But really, what’s Transformers sans Megan Fox? I’d rather camp out for the 25th anniversary of Weird Scienceplaying at AFI tonight.
Speaking of old age–Johnny Carson is moving online. That’s right, grab some chocolates and veg out to 3,500 hours of Carson’s Tonight Show and relive the good old days. Sadly, Entourage is about to become a part of the past. The show announced they’ll be calling it quits next summer. Don’t fret–there’s still Californication or if you’d rather, the radio series StoryCorps is coming to PBS.
This weekend–in an attempt to widen my free-time activities (what is there sans booze?) O.A.R. is at the Merriweather Post Pavilion with Citizen Cope. D.C.’s indiepop night, Mousetrap, is on over at the Black Cat Saturday, though probably sans DJ Stereo Faith since he’s set for brain surgery on Friday. Best wishes to him. I’ll probably be on a couch watching free television somewhere. All right, don’t sweat too much today and have a wonderful day!
