“Looped”: Despite its location, the name isn’t referring to some sort of sex position.
No, Looped is a yarn shop. It’s moving into a space formerly occupied by near the recently closed Pleasure Place on Connecticut Avenue NW in Dupont, Prince of Petworth reported yesterday. Looped’s grand opening is scheduled for Sept. 23-26.
Owners Susan Galbraith and Janie Lipnick have set up a cute little website for the shop, which says that “Looped Yarn Works is bringing yarn back to Dupont Circle. We’ve all missed our local yarn store (lys) in the neighborhood. We’re excited to bring the community a friendly, comfortable and warm shop with a selection of beautiful yarns and notions.” Sounds about as far removed from “sophisticated adult toys” as one can get.
Looped will be the city’s second yarn shop—the other, Stitch DC, is all the way over on Barracks Row. But, if products that will “help spice up your erotic lifestyle” are still your fancy, the Georgetown Pleasure Place remains under full operation.
