The late-’80s lineup of classic D.C. hardcore band Government Issue—-that’d be John Stabb, J. Robbins, Tom Lyle, and Pete Moffett—-is reuniting for a Dec. 11 show at the Black Cat to raise funds for DJ Stereo Faith, a well-known figure in the local alt-DJ scene who recently underwent surgery to remove a tumor from his auditory canal. Stereo Faith’s surgery was successful, and although he has health insurance, he told Arts Desk that it wouldn’t cover his entire bill.
A DJ-centric benefit at U Street Music Hall raised more than $7,000 for McPherson. But he also has punk roots: McPherson used to play in the D.C. punk band Brace.
Also at the Dec. 11 Black Cat show: The Goons and Set to Explode. Tickets are $15, and go on sale tomorrow.
