WWD reported that Stacy London, of TLC’s What Not to Wear, is collaborating with friend and D.C. resident Cindy McLaughlin on Style for Hire, a personal styling service. The service launches Sept. 13 in D.C., with a team of 15 stylists.

Though “stylist in chief” London’s credentials are well-established thanks to her show, McLaughlin, who is Style for Hire’s CEO, knows a thing or two about the fashion industry as well. She served as president of the now-defunct line Abaeté, which specialized in dresses with an edgy femininity and was a favorite of celebrities like Jessica Simpson and Becki Newton.

Ultimately, London and McLaughlin hope to expand Style for Hire beyond D.C. into other major cities, and plan to gather a stylist network upwards of 2,500 within four years. London and McLaughlin will hand-pick the stylists and put them through a two-day training program. Stylists will offer a variety of services, including going through clients’ closets and pulling unwearable items out for charity or consignment, building outfits from the clothes clients already own and creating shopping lists based on any gaps in their wardrobes, and personal shopping. The average cost of services will be around $100 per hour.
