Good morning, D.C.! Do you remember this summer’s miserable heat and humidity? Between yesterday and today, it’s been completely erased from my mind. This fantastic fall weather would be best complimented by a side of Montgomery County-sanctioned skate park and, lucky for those with boundless energy in Takoma Park, they’ll have access to one…in a year! TBD’s continuing coverage notes this morning that construction on Takoma-Piney Branch Park will start “at the end of October or beginning of November,” and is “estimated to cost $2.3 million and construction is expected to last one year.” Speaking of the streets, here’s a random, but pretty sweet, mural in Capitol Hill via Prince of Petworth’s incessant wanderings.

Perhaps far exceeding the excitement of a new skate park is that Transformers 3 will soon be shooting in our fair city. Shia Labeouf, OMG! But, for real, TBD has an extensive list of street closures. Dr. Gridlock’s got more—and We Love DC has a map! Since the street closures, between Oct. 11 and 15, will probably be a pain in the ass, let’s cross our fingers that Metro has got it together.

Click Track reviews the weekend’s shows, which included The Vaselines at 9:30 Club and Drake at Constitution Hall. DCist interviews Vaseline tourmates Teenage Fanclub (well, Norman Blake, the singer/guitarist of Teenage Fanclub), and we have some pictures.

If shambling, mid-’90s, Canadian college rock isn’t refined enough for you, We Love DC’s got a good listing of “October’s Best” at the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the National Museum of the American Indian. Check out the Bolivian folk dancers’ costumes—intense.

Here on Arts Desk, we chat about Cecile McLorin Salvant, this year’s Thelonious Monk Competition Winner, compose a much-improved soundtrack to Waiting for Superman, and converse with Freakonomics producer Chad Troutwine.

Enjoy your Tuesday!
