Morning, all. I feel a slow day comin’ on, but let’s take a look at what’s going on in the world, anyway.
RIP, Bob Guccione. The Penthouse founder died yesterday in Plano, Tex. after a long battle with cancer. It’s a sad day for porn lovers everywhere.
Evidently Juan Williams hasn’t learned from the examples of Helen Thomas or Rick Sanchez. NPR fired the senior news analyst after he made anti-Muslim remarks on the “O’Reilly Factor.” Well, at least he’s still got his gig as an analyst at Fox to fall back on.
Attention, Gleeksters: Have you been missing Mark Salling, aka Puck, this season? Most hardcore fans probably know he’s been away recording his own solo album, and now you can see (and hear) the fruits of his labor. You can check out the music video for his first single, “Illusions,” here.
A few weeks ago, the Gap unveiled a new logo. Instead of the familiar tall white serifed letters against a navy background, the new logo features black helvetica letters with a small blue square in the upper right corner. The logo has been roundly slammed—it looks generic, outdated, etc.—but at least one person’s optimistic about it. The logo has yet to hit the website; I’m still hoping it’s a joke.
