Back on Sept. 24, you could preview Dave Eggers‘ newest 826 outpost—dubbed the Museum of Unnatural History—for $250. If you somehow missed the event or you couldn’t shell out, worry not: The center officially opens its doors to the public tomorrow, and you can see it for free.
The nonprofit, which works with students ages 6-18 with their writing skills by providing free writing workshops and tutoring, has actually been conducting events for most of the month, both at their Columbia Heights storefront and at other locations like the Duke Ellington School of the Arts and UDC.
The volunteer corps of 826DC has also been active with the organization for several months, getting the space ready and raising funds. In May, some of them raised money in a moustache-a-thon, collecting over $8000 for the organization in six weeks.
As I don’t have an extra $250 laying around, I’ll be checking out the Museum of Unnatural History for the first time tomorrow. Check it out tomorrow on Twitter.
The event takes place tomorrow from 12 to 4 p.m. at 3233 14th St. NW.
