Last month, New York Magazine reported that all J. Crew employees are banned from purchasing items from It-Girl Alexa Chung‘s line for sister store Madewell.
I checked out the line when it came out and was underwhelmed: lots of dresses I might have worn as a five-year-old and high-waisted, peg-legged jeans you’ve gotta be about 6’0 and 120 lbs. to pull off.
Madewell sent out an e-mail blast today about their fall sale. I clicked through and spotted lots of Alexa Chung items on sale. Seems her unflattering jeans and twee coverall dresses aren’t as popular as the folks at J. Crew anticipated.
