Gregg Gillis is back. With little advance fanfare, the mashup master dropped his newest Girl Talk album for free today, and you can pick it up over at Illegal Art. Expect Gillis’ signature sonic overload: hyperactive dance tracks stuffed with shiny pop and littered with underground classics. The new album’s second track, “Let It Out,” sports both a Wale sample and a slice of Fugazi‘s “Waiting Room” (which has definitely been mashed up in the past). It’s a nice nod to the District, but will it be enough to pack 9:30 Club when Girl Talk swings through on Feb. 1?
