As readers of this blog know, I’ve been digging on local electronic music with a tinge of fantasy epic lately. So I’m a little curious about “Narnia,” the new weekly dance night from Party Bros. collaborators and local DJs Gavin Holland and Chris Burns.
What to expect, then? “Warm mysterious house music for the cold winter months,” writes Holland in an e-mail. “‘Narnia’ seemed appropriate since our aim was to create a mystical wonderland of house music….if I could tell you any more, the mystery would be gone!”
Fair enough. And luckily, the Thursday-night residency won’t overlap with Holland’s new ANC obligations, once they start. ANC 1A has Wednesday meetings.
“Narnia” with guests Bil Tod and DJ TMY takes place 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Thursday at the Reserve on L, 1426 L St. NW. Free. I’m guessing they won’t be playing the Phish song “Prince Caspian.” Good thing, too.
