An extremely unscientific and unthorough aggregation of Art Basel Miami Beach coverage by D.C. outlets reveals the following quotes:

We Love DC: “A typical day at Art Basel consisted of the following.  Wake up at 9AM, grab coffee and breakfast at the 11th Street Diner, spend the next six or so hours soaking up as much art as my brain could withstand, eat sushi at some point, and then hit the best parties I could find, which in most cases were nothing short of epic.”

Worn Magazine: “Somewhere in between all of the art we made it to the beach several times and snacked on plantain chips and Tecates in an attempt to make it back to D.C. with a tan.”

Ready Set DC: “After seeing over 50,000 pieces of artwork, my senses were on overload. It was a nice escape to the art paradise of Miami, but there’s nothing like the cold, gray weather of Washington, DC to recalibrate the optics.”

If you like pictures of art, I encourage you to click on any of those links. Note that none of these posts were published before Dec. 11—which implies that Art Basel Miami Beach is exhausting. Like Burning Man.

(Maura Judkis of TBD, who did not go to Miami Beach, posted something on Dec. 7.)
