So, the White Stripes broke up and, jeez, there was a lot of news about that. (This blogger, who routinely enjoyed the are-they-brother-and-sister-or-husband-and-wife duo about five years ago, had no idea they were still together, but is disappointed to think that this probably means significantly more output from the Raconteurs.)
The CW is putting Gossip Girl on M Street: “The network has greenlighted Georgetown (formerly Inner Circle). The hourlong project, written by Remember Mescribe Will Fetters, is described as a sexy soap centered around the young people behind the power brokers of Washington, DC.” It’ll be produced by He of The O.C., Josh Schwartz. One would’ve hoped they could’ve stuck to Inner Circle—much more intriguing than Georgetown!—but there’s already a (far superior) T.C. Boyle book of the same name. Sigh.
DCist has pictures from Girl Talk’s 9:30 Club show, which appeared to be a rather neon explosion (big surprise). It looks like the kids had fun. See also: Amusing cartoon of Davy DCist. Pure art!
