Bye bye, Borders. The books and music chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy yesterday, and both D.C. locations will close. Guess that means I’d better finally get around to using that gift card.

By now, everyone knows that the $65 million, Julie Taymor-directed Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, with music by Bono and the Edge, pretty much sucks anyway you look at it. Well, the show’s producers aren’t going down that easy. According to the New York Times, they’ve contacted playwright-cum-Spider-Man-writer (and former Washington City Paper intern!) Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa to assist in re-writing the script. Why they didn’t employ a guy with those kind of credentials in the first place remains a mystery.

Dispatches from Fashion Week: Noting the colorful palettes of the collections of Rodarte, Narciso Rodriguez, Vera Wang, Marc by Marc Jacobs, and others, the eternal Suzy Menkes wonders if New York is really off black for a while. Throw in Proenza Schouler too: Yesterday’s biggest show featured clothes inspired by Native American blankets in gorgeous, saturated colors and sleek silhouettes. If only I had an extra $10 grand laying around.

I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty darn sad that Friday Night Lights is officially over. (Although, being that I don’t have DIRECTV, I still have yet to watch the last season. Yay!) But at least the cast seem to be doing pretty well for themselves. Zach Gilford (Matt Saracen) is on Off the Map, Minka Kelly (Lyla Garrity) is in The Roommate, and now Adrianne Palicki (Tyra Collette) has been cast as the lead in David E. Kelley‘s Wonder Woman revamp for NBC. Team Tyra forever.
