Oddisee recently took a break from recording his solo debut to drop this video for “Different Now,” directed by Zack Schamberg. The track, featuring Toine from the local DTMD trio, is one of the better songs from Mello Music Group’s Helpless Dreamer compilation, released in November.

As is the case with most Oddisee songs, the track is carried by a dusty soul sample, a driving rhythm, and some pretty insightful lyrics about growing older and wiser. (“I used to like a one night/Stand, now I’m all up in her house like ‘there ain’t one nice lamp,'” Oddisee raps.) If this track is an indication of his new material, we’ll be nodding our heads all summer.
