Yesterday at a City Council budget hearing, the D.C. Film Office’s Crystal Palmer offered some real talk about how to attract Hollywood productions to the District. Today, her agency uploaded a video to YouTube.

Without any words, it more or less says: Come to D.C., filmmakers with cash to spend! We’ve got monuments! Power! Dog-walkers! Other motifs in the video: Very famous signage, and people standing around doing nothing. Kudos for lots of low, Scorsesean angles, but if you’re trying to attract some star power, whipping something up in iMovie probably isn’t the best play.

Perhaps the D.C. Film Office should tap a famous director to make a trailer for the city. I nominate Señor Spielbergo:
