Love, Peace, and SOUL: The Smithsonian will collect artifacts from Soul Train for the National Museum of African American History and Culture, reports Arts Post: “It has decided to collect some artifacts from “the hippest trip in America,” officials announced Thursday. Next week a few items from the groundbreaking —and backbreaking, in some cases—weekly show of dance and music will be given to the museum.”
Something Something Tomatoes and Radio Wires: Reclusive Neutral Milk Hotel frontman Jeff Mangum is touring and has added more dates, according to Pitchfork. There’s no D.C. stop, but Mangum will be at 2640 Space at St. John’s Church in Baltimore in late September. Go ahead, lose your shit.
Clearly, No Animal Collective: Click Track gets the favorite songs of National Zoo director director Dennis W. Kelly. (Much to my disappointment, the list was only partially animal-themed.)
