Who Stopped the Rane?: DJ Rane—-the former WPGC personality suing the station for gender discrimination—-has filed a second suit, reports Reliable Source, claiming she was unlawfully terminated after filing her initial legal complaint. Well, actually, she quit, a fact that this newest lawsuit dances around: “But Sykes’s lawyer, Jimmy A. Bell, claims the station acted improperly in ‘retroactively’ ending her employment by not allowing her to come back to work for those final two weeks or say goodbye to listeners, and by cutting off medical benefits as of her last day, though she’d paid her share through the end of the month.”

Tsotchke Alert: Meet several Washingtonians who collect crap! In WaPo, Alice Fordham profiles The Ephemera Society, whose members include Alexandria’s Barbara Charles, who collects anything related to carousels, and Washington’s Cheryl Ganz, who collects anything related to zeppelins. It turns out these people are 1) not crazy; and 2) belong to an international organization. Kudos.

Sigh: SocialStudies, you’re no Your Scene Sucks.
