If Johnny Marr’s Car Kills the Both of Us: Having played guitar for The Smiths, Modest Mouse, and The Cribs does not exempt one from a speeding ticket. Johnny Marr got slapped with a whole lot of money for going 72 miles per hour in a 40 miles per hour zone. Marr pled guilty and is now banned from the roads for 56 days. Can we assume that heaven knows he’s miserable now?
Vanilla on the Potomac: Arts Post says some boilerplate, expected stuff about Barack Obama‘s appearance at the Kennedy Center Honors on Sunday night, which we all know are the worst. “Even with silly stuff, the president indicated he doesn’t like the fishbowl of public life. He talked about expressing himself. ‘That’s why we dance, even if, as Michelle says, I look silly doing it. It is one of the downsides of being President: Your dance moves end up on YouTube,’ said Obama….The audience, according to the official transcript, laughed knowingly.” Derp, derp.
This Should Be Funnier: Wiz Khalifa talks to Click Track about life and stuff. He’s in a forthcoming movie with Snoop Dogg (Mac & Devin Go to High School), and says this, about that:
“Had you been a fan of Snoop Dogg’s before you did this movie together?
Heck, yeah. I’ve been a fan of his since I was in preschool.
And now you both are in [fictional] high school together.
It definitely felt natural. I’ve always kind of seen myself in that position. [The movie is] about me coming out of my shell. I’m like not really a nerd, but I’m a smart guy who’s never walked on the wild side. And all Snoop does is walk on the wild side.”
Yesterday on Arts Desk: Because Etsy is just too damn corporate, you can buy locally made, artisan crafty-things! Screen Vinyl Image has two new songs, and you should listen to them!
