It’s staple-y, in fact, that sandwiches are numerically listed—with the exception of No. 1, also known as the “burporken.” Don’t worry, though—there are vegan options, too.
Sackler Scrilla: It’s a cash money birthday for the Freer-Sackler Gallery: Per the New York Times‘ Arts Beat blog, “Many philanthropists donate money to found an institution and then leave it up to officials to worry about the operating costs. Not Dame Jillian Sackler. On Tuesday, officials at the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery and the Freer Gallery of Art in Washington announced that Ms. Sackler had donated $5 million to establish an endowment to fund the director’s post and programs at the galleries that are named, in part, after her husband.” The Asian art gallery turns 25 this year.
