Last year, DJ 2-Tone Jones and his business partner Gerald Watson released two impressive mixtapes—-Shaolin Jazz: The 37th Chamber and The Gil Scott Suite—-which blended vocals from Gil-Scott Heron and the Wu-Tang Clan with various jazz instrumentals.
Now, Watson and 2-Tone have the follow-up: a T-shirt line?
Here’s the deal: Following the release of the Shaolin Jazz project in April, the duo held an album cover design contest. Then, they used the top six designs for their first line of shirts.
The designs are actually kinda cool: The gray one has caricatures of The RZA, Method Man, and the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard. A black and white shirt features detailed drawings of the entire clan. (Although I’m trying to figure out why Inspektah Dek and Masta Killa are joined at the head. Protect ya neck?)
The Shaolin Jazz shirts are on sale here.
This isn't a paywall.
