Chuck Brown’s manager, Tom Goldfogle, sent this statement from the Godfather of Go-Go’s family:

Legendary performing artist and musical innovator Chuck Brown died today at Johns Hopkins Hospital of multiorgan failure from sepsis. He was 75 years old, with a career spanning four decades. His family continues to be grateful for the outpouring of love and support and requests respect for their privacy during this difficult time. Announcements regarding arrangements will be forthcoming from the family.

Goldfogle says that Brown’s band will perform some tribute-themed shows in the coming months.
