Local indie-pop outfit America Hearts launched a monthly digital singles series earlier this year and an accompanying residency at the Black Cat. The final EP is now out, and tonight is the final showcase. You can stream the melancholy joints on Soundcloud.

America Hearts will spend July driving from Portland to Los Angeles on its “Manifest Destiny” tour, and tonight’s gig doubles as a sort of champagne bottle smashing on the hull. If you’re too hammered after watching this afternoon’s Spain-Portugal game to stumble down to U Street, at least check out the new clip for “Heart.” Guitarist Kristina Buddenhagen chopped up throwback science-fiction clips from the 1955 film Conquest of Space, and the thing makes you want to take a lonely road trip on an Astronaut Jones rocket, then eat a turkey leg in outer space.

America Hearts performs with Olivia & The Mates, The Mean Season, and We Fought the Big One DJs at 8 p.m. at the Black Cat. $8.
