Best Coast‘s airy Bethany Cosentino and the husky twang of Those Darlins‘ Nikki and Jessi Darlin seemed like an odd pair at first, but live, it was all about powerful sounds barreling off the stage. Between Best Coast’s lo-fi buzz and Those Darlins’ ’60s-girl-group-gone-to-Memphis vibe, Saturday’s sold-out show at 9:30 Club was enough to light up a long city block.
