There is a way to find out what’s in the above mural, and it does not require ingesting anything psychotropic. For this week’s Anatomy of a Mural feature, I talked to Peter Krsko of street-art nonprofit Albus Cavus, which organized the painting of this mural at Sherman Avenue and Barry Place NW in 2009 through the city’s MuralsDC program. Find out what’s up with that trippy anthropomorphic sun—-and find out which part of the mural was created by prison inmates—-here.
Oh, and let us know: What mural in D.C. should we decode next?
