Friday afternoon, we reported that the Chuck Brown Day concert scheduled to take place at the Convention Center on Saturday had been canceled, then relocated to D.C. Star. This morning we discovered that, in the end, the concert did not take place at all.
Promoter Tubb Entertainment sent out a strongly worded press release on Friday faulting co-presenter Kappstone Media for the event’s unraveling, accusing the Bowie-based company of failing to meet financial obligations to the Convention Center. (The Convention Center confirmed that the concert was shelved due to “contractual issues.”)
Promoter Darryl “Tubb” Robinson says refunds for the show are available at place of purchase.
